UGGGGH Top-posting makes it really hard to respond to threads...
But more generally, I think it would be good to have the option to
include varying levels of verbosity and/or specific include/exclude
options for different error conditions.

There is a rich amount of data reported both in the server log and in
the individual client logs. Some of it quite important but most of us
probably don't browse through the server log let alone the individual
client logs on a daily basis. Currently, as long as the backup
completes, the daily emails are all peachy. Similarly, using the web
interface to check for errors is probably something many of us don't
do...

In my case, I ended up having a corrupt disk (due to a software RAID
issue) and backuppc kept sending me emails like everything was ok even
though the logs had errors that could have caught that.

For example it would be nice to get a daily or weekly email report
with errors tabulated by client where one could set which errors are
included.
