You also might want to take a look at the local
machine's rsyncd.conf file to ensure that nothing strange is setup there.
If you are using cygwin, your path for the [cDrive] (or whatever you named it)
should be: /cygdrive/c/ .
From the log files you gave, that's what it looks
to be.

I'm backing up Win7 machines and not getting this problem.
Trying grepping /etc/backuppc for system32, and post back if something
turns up.
