This *is* a pretty odd thing to do.  More to the point, it runs counter to
the BackupPC paradigm, so you'll have work to do.

Don't do this; I'll assume you don't actually want to break backups, and
you're going to have problems with the naming conventions.  Keep in mind
it's *pool* storage, which really isn't suited to browsing in the first
place.

If you really want to do this, you'll probably want to investigate the
fuse filesystem interfaces instead.

So... you don't actually want to use the pool storage, I guess.

Again, I'll point you in the direction of fuse, unless your goal is to
break BackupPC.

Fuse, as I mentioned before, is probably the only way to do this without
breaking something.

What you're essentially asking for is a view into the storage pool that's
... not the storage pool.  Probably the best way to do so without breaking
anything is fuse.
