You're right - these two steps are backwards and it should be fine
to do them in the order you propose. However, I can't suggest a
way to do it without modifying the code. I will fix this.
An alternative is just doing a single wakeup each night, but that
won't work for laptops that aren't connected overnight. Or you
could do two: one at night and one during the day, minimizing
the likelihood of an extraneous power up.
