There's nothing in the backuppc interface to tell you this. 
However, if you go to /var/lib/backuppc/pc/<hostname>/new/ and run a 'du
-sch' it'll give you a rough estimate of how much data has been transferred.
If you have some idea how much data needs to be transferred (perhaps based
on previous transfers, or on estimates), you can get a rough idea of
progress.

Note that this is disk-intensive, and will slow down the transfer process
noticeably.
