BTW: It's an openSUSE 10.2 (X86-64)

Everything in bin/ is owned by user backuppc and has rights -r-xr-xr-x.

> ls -l /usr/bin/suidperl

-rwxr-xr-x 3 root root 1286192 2007-11-09 02:05 /usr/bin/suidperl

What do you need suidperl for? It should not be used. I've got
#!/usr/bin/perl
at the top of bin/BackupPC
