I found about this PCI based hardware products from Indra Networks which can

I assume this is an encryption coprocessor, and it's worth noting that
this only helps if the apps Amanda is using for encryption are
compiled to support it.

I wish this gateway worked better, and that there was some clear
indication on it that it posts to a busy mailing list, rather than a
web forum.

Just FYI, this exact message, using the same or similar user names, has been "spammed" to other forums as well. It appeared on Linuxquestions.org today just tacked onto a thread where I had been helping someone work through some issues with their Amanda configuration. It was the first post on that forum by "encryptionfunda".

The product is real, and I found postings earlier of people actually using it, but I find it slightly annoying to have a pure advertisement posted to the list as though it were an innocent discovery by a user. Here it is kind of out of the blue. On the linuxquestions thread, it was almost a complete non sequitur, leaving me scratching my head thinking "huh?"
