xinetd amindexd and amidxtaped are not use, you should disable them ifyou don't have older client.
Post /etc/xinetd.d/amanda
Post the amandad.*.debug file
Do /usr/lib/amanda/amidxtaped have the same permission as/usr/lib/amanda/amindexd?

Either when you configure amanda or in the amanda-client.conf file.
