Hi,

I was hoping I could get a little help in reading the output of Amanda (2.6)
when I get the completion emails from it. Its a new install and I find it
confusing on why it makes some statements in the information email after it
completes the backup.

Here is the information from the email and what I assume it is refering to,
please correct me if I am making the wrong assumptions on what this is telling
me.

STATISTICS:
                          Total Full Incr.
                        -------- -------- --------
Estimate Time (hrs:min) 0:08
Run Time (hrs:min) 12:47
Dump Time (hrs:min) 9:04 9:04 0:00
Output Size (meg) 1446225.1 1446225.1 0.0
Original Size (meg) 1446225.1 1446225.1 0.0
Avg Compressed Size (%) -- -- --
Filesystems Dumped 2 2 0
Avg Dump Rate (k/s) 45348.8 45348.8 --

All pretty straight forward above; total run time almost 13hours, capacity
backed up 1.44TB, no compression. 2 FS's in my DLE, and the Dump rate was
45MB/s .

Tape Time (hrs:min) 7:07 7:07 0:00
Tape Size (meg) 1446225.1 1446225.1 0.0
Tape Used (%) 359.4 359.4 0.0
Filesystems Taped 2 2 0

Chunks Taped 40 40 0
Avg Tp Write Rate (k/s) 57752.5 57752.5 --

Here is where it gets fuzzy... and not in logic. Tape size... the amount that
was put to tape? Tape Used... 359%? Avg Tp Write Rate, the holding disk wrote
to the tape drive @ 57MB/s....correct?

USAGE BY TAPE:
Label Time Size % Nb Nc
  AmaTor-002 2:29 470300448K 114.1 0 12
  AmaTor-003 2:27 494028950K 119.9 1 13
  AmaTor-004 2:00 464873216K 112.8 0 12
  AmaTor-005 0:20 86912230K 21.1 1 3

How did my Tapes load more then their capacity of 360GB each (LTO3 @ 400GB
native capacity - 40GB tape split size).

NOTES:

archive2.win.mrxfx.com:/array/sata-1/maxpayne/SHOTS/148Ax050.

taper: Will request retry of failed split part.

taper: Will request retry of failed split part.

I cant tell if this is an error or just for my information, I assume it caused
by the Tape Split Size value we use.

DUMP SUMMARY:
                                       DUMPER STATS TAPER STATS
HOSTNAME DISK L ORIG-KB OUT-KB COMP% MMM:SS KB/s MMM:SS KB/s
-------------------------- ------------------------------------- -------------
archive2.win -TS/033x010 0 722933590 722933590 -- 198:16 60769.8 241:30

archive2.win -S/148Ax050 0 758000870 758000870 -- 346:00 36512.1 185:53
67962.4

And finally this final output which tells me that bandwidth was different for
the 2 FS's , why would one throughput be higher then the other one.

Thanks for the decryption services :) .
