What does that say:

mywindows.patito.com: [SMBCLIENT program not available]

?

Could it mean that the smbclient-program is not available on
mywindows.patito.com?

Is mywindows.patito.com a linux-server or a windows-host as the name
suggests?

As in the example:

goscinny //tweety/notesdata$ server-compress

goscinny has to be a linux-host, or more specifically, an amanda-client
with the smbclient-binary, this one then connects to tweety, the
windows-host, for getting the data in.

Understood?

Stefan
