I have a new client and installed 2.5.2p1 (because I'm going to
need the features and it compiled cleanly and quickly).
The server is still at 2.4.4, both the client and server run Solaris 10.
I was surprised that the client seemed to need a client.conf file, but
the man page was available... I left everything to default values, which
may be my mistake, but I didn't need to add ssh keys or anything so
I just touch'd the file.
I ejected the tape from the drive on the server and tried to run
amanda against the single client.
# amdump www npauling
I'm pretty certain I missed something trivial, but I continue to
overlook it.
The server has 34 Gig of work area, so the lack of the tape should
not be causing the failure, the partitions I'm trying to dump are
pretty small.
Yes, the server is "pauling" with the work area on /amanda
and the client is "npauling" (new pauling), I expect that
will eventually bit me in the butt too.
