Hello,

Background..... I lost an external raid array on my main back up server. The OS, with the Amanda install and it's config files all were on a different raid that did not go bad. The drives that failed had only my /dump directory for holding disk and another slice that contained some data. Unfortunately, our Amanda "infofile", "logdir" and "indexdir" directories were on this disk. After some struggling to restore those needed directories, we resigned ourselves to just recreating them, and forcing a level 0 on all our hosts. But... so far we've had no luck. Two problems are occurring.

1. Amanda can't seem to create the needed index files under the indexdir. Although it successfully creates the needed subdir's for each host, it can't write the actual file itself. I've double checked the permissions a bunch of times, tried using alternate locations but keep getting "Operation not permitted" failures no matter how I set the permissions.

2. The rebuilt RAID slices keep coming back with "missing result" during the planner phase.

Do I need to somehow "reset" the Amanda install to tell it we're starting fresh? We're on ver Amanda-2.5.1p1, running FreeBSD 4.7. Attached below are some log snippets from a run with a stripped down disklist (just 1 remote host and the main backup box itself). Any thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks!
