I've got three workstations I'm trying to install and configure amanda for.
My tape host is a Solaris 8 machine and I have two clients with Solaris
8 on one and Solaris 9 on the other.
I was able to build and install the tape host and the one Solaris 8
client with very little trouble.
I can't however get the build to succeed on the Solaris 9 client.
You can run Solaris 8 binaries on Solaris 9, so why recompile?
The configure succeeds but the make fails with the following message.
A frequent mistake is to use the same build directory that was
used for the other architectures, and forgetting to run a
make distclean
before running "./configure --with-user=...". Otherwise you will
still build with the old configuratin (for solaris 8).
I've been using Sun's BigAdmin article, "Performing Centralized
Concurrent Backups with Amanda" as guidance up to this point.
