You probably have "runtapes 1" (the default if not specified).
Amanda still has to be able to put all the (eventually split) dumps
somewhere on (v)tape. And 4000 MB < 5089230 KB.
Use a changer (chg-disk or chg-multi) and set runtapes > 1.
