Seems like it crashes or so?
Can you try to execute it manally like this:
(echo 'OPTIONS features=fffffeff9ffe7f;' ; echo 'GNUTAR / 0') |
/usr/local/libexec/selfcheck
Or it could be that amandad crashes before it can give the necessary
input to selfcheck. Have in look that the amandad.*.debug file too.
