It depends on how predictable your tape usage is.  If your
backups always fit on one tape (or always 2, or 3..) then
you can predict it. Amanda works its way up from the bottom
of the tapelist using the ones marked 'reuse'.
  If some days you use one tape, and other days use two, then
you can't exactly know what tapes you will need next Sunday.
  Amcheck always tells you the next tape to be used, and your
daily report will too (athough it will tell you the next
'runtapes' tapes, even though you may not actually use that
many on the next run.
  What are you trying to do, preload daily magazines?
