That's a known limitation of the current implementation.

But there's an easy workaround:  create a symlink on the
client without spaces (if you can't rename the directory).


That's only an easy workaround if you are an administrator of the
client system.

If you are not then you have to go to the include-style syntax.
E.g.:

host /VNTI /Library {
        nocomp-osx
        include "./Application?Support/VNTI?Database"
}

The problem here is this is still buggy, as discussed on -hackers
in April and July 2004.
