Hi all
I have an Backupserver with an 80-slot overland library (AIT-3) backing up
several clients.
I have following problem since four weeks and can't find an solution.
I have two scenarios to backup an raid
iupbackup_2 is backing up only one big directory
iupbackup_4 ist backing up some smaller directories
iupbackup_2 is running correctly without any errors
iupbackup_4 isn't running I get the message
FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY: raid02.iup /home/home8 lev 0 FAILED
[Request to raid02.iup.uni-bremen.de timed out.]
correlative for all directories in the scenario (excepting one directory
residing at an other computer)
The computer is running and also reachable by network. I checked with an
cronjob and ping running the same time as the backup-job.
Furthermore I run nagios monitoring the network and also this tool checked the
client running.
I can't see the problem why one scenario backing up the raid is running and
the other one backing up the same raid isn't running.
I didn't change the configuration of this scenario and it was also running
before for a long time.
Freaky is also the fact that an amcheck says : 0 problems found

Some weeks ago I changed the operating system on the raid from SuSE 8.0 to 9.0
But this can't be the problem because one scenario is running.
I don't use the amanda delivered with SuSE I use Ver. 2.4.3 on all clients and
the server.
I'm not sure if I shall update to ver 2.5.0 -- Never change a running system..
I'll append the last two mails of iupbackup_2 and _4 as well as the
configurations.
Any suggestions ??
I would be happy if someone has an solution for this strange problem.
