Some dumps may have been left in the holding disk.
Run amflush to flush them to tape.
The next tape Amanda expects to use is: twilley009.
This is showing up in my messages file:

is it possible your tape is physical write-protected?

Also, check to make sure that the tape is rewound. Make sure the tape is properly amlabeled. How much stuff are you trying to put onto the tape? I often get weird error messages when I run out of space.
