Hi Jonathan,
Amanda 2.4.4p1-20031031 should work with an unpatched samba 3.0.0.
Are you sure you run Amanda version 2.4.4p1-20031031 on
the client (tempsrv)? Look at the sendbackup.<timestamp>.debug
on tempsrv.
