Hello everyone, when I run ./configure I get the following results;

checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
configure: error: *** --with-user=USER is missing

I have no idea how to fix this, it's probably something super easy but
I honestly don't know.

can anyone shed some light to my problem?

Read the install document in the docs directory.

Configure is telling you that YOU must supply that option argument.
There are several that my must supply and they are explained in
the above document.
