Amanda does not "support" drives or changers in the sense you probably mean.
It contains no code that is specific to the hardware. Instead, it depends
on other programs, eg mt and mtx, to do the manipulation. Well, there is one,
chg-scsi if you use it. But if I understand that one, it issues "generic"
scsi calls.

So the question is either:
  - does it work with mt and mtx on your system
  - are there alternatives (like chg-scsi) that may work
  - have others reported success using amanda with your drive combination

The mtx.sourceforge.net site has a compatibility list.

As to amanda, in April a survey was conducted with 72 people responding.
Here is the summary of the responses to the changer/library questions:

A total of 30 of 72 respondents reported having a tape changer or library.
Several of those reported having more than one changer/library.
Surprisingly, the 30 respondents reported 26 distinct models of
changer/library.

The table below shows the models reported by those 28 respondents.
Where multiple reports for the same model existed, only one entry is show.
Where the multiple reports showed different configuration (eg. 1 drive
vs 2 drive), only the larger configuration is shown.
