Your subject line says "file type' unknown.
This message says "file system" unknown.
Very different things.
Looks to me like "data", of /usr/home/mysql/data is not a mount
point of a file system, but just a directory in the /, or /usr,
or /usr/home, or /usr/home/mysql file systems. Use mount or
df to tell which.
Dump can only work on file systems, not directory trees.
If that is really what you want (a directory tree) use as
your backup program, gnutar instead of dump.
