i don't backup nfs-mounts anywhere. the /data/any-directory is owned by www and
all needed suid-bits are set. at the moment i also backup the complete /etc
directory without any problems. on other machines with the same configuration
and the rights 770 on the /data/any-directory i can backup it with the
additional group users for amanda.
any other ideas?

something "like" this :-)

Is "/data/any-directory" a NFS-mounted directory? (just in case :-) )
Is you DLE dumptype using GNUTAR? (There is no dump
for a reiser fs, IRC).
Have you tried running the gnutar command by hand as root user
(you can find the complete command line in /tmp/amanda/*).
And in /tmp/amanda/*debug, on the client, you probably find
lots of other useful info too.

Yes, but who owns it. Root I guess?

No use to run amcheck as root. It connects client-server
with tcp to amandad, which is started by (x)inetd and there
runs with amanda-priviledges anyway. (But that starts dump
or tar with a suid wrapper to have the power to backup.)
Do you have lost your suid-bits on those programs? (rundump, runtar etc)
