Paul you are correct - I ran amcheck without the -m option and it works
fine.
I am assuming my dump will still run !
I did copy/paste this output.
Thanks for your help - if it helps the amanda version is the RPM with RH7.2.

Strange! There is no such message in the amanda-2.4.4 sources.
I don't have 2.4.2p2 sources hanging around.
Is the output above a "copy/paste" from a screen?
Then it's strange that you get a prompt back before the errormsg.
I suppose the first lines are the result of an amcheck without the -m
option. There are no errors, so it wouldn't send mail anyway.
If you do introduce an error, like eject the tape, does it send mail?
