hi guys,
another question re backup config to disk.


my disklist config is as follows

nalinga.cbio.cytopia.com.au //192.168.1.10/shared hard-disk-tar
nalinga.cbio.cytopia.com.au //192.168.1.10/user hard-disk-tar
( nalinga acting as smb server)


my dumptype in amanda.conf is as follows

define dumptype hard-disk-tar {
    program "GNUTAR"
    comment "Backup up to hard disk instead of tape using tar"
    Index yes
    priority high
    }
(still not sure if this is right)

now theres a few problems, but the one thats confused me for a while ( ive
had the same error using smbtar to backup nt machines)
is the SUCCESS 0 error that appears in the FAILED AND STRANGE DUMP DETAILS:
ive copied below?

i ran a dump yesterday and the backup seemed fine

        (although still cant restore....but thats another matter....what do you 
set
the
        [ -d tape-device ] to when copying to a directory?  and do you set the
[sethost host] to the samba server? or the nt                   machine..?)

anyway my question is can anyone tell me what causes this error,  it appears
intemitently (sorry bout the spelling)and i can never work out what ive done
differently when it occurs.

in the list below there is a permissions problem just before the SUCCESS 0
starts to rain on my parade.  does it indicant that tar has fallen over due
to this these errors?
