amanda can't find its' own disk?

These dumps were to tape Indyme001.
The next tape Amanda expects to use is: Indyme001.

FAILURE AND STRANGE DUMP SUMMARY:
  backup     /dev/hda1 lev 0 FAILED [disk /dev/hda1 offline on backup?]

"backup" is the host that amanda is running on.

The FAQ isn't helping here... the filesystem isn't any bigger than any
that are being successfully backed up, I've always used user "amanda", I
do have dump installed, etc.

System is Red Hat 8.0 out-of-the-box.
