I have just upgraded Amanda on one client (FreeBSD 4.6.2) to 2.4.3b4,
and now I get the following message in the mail-report:

kas-barbar ad0s3e lev 1 FAILED [[parse of reply message failed]]
kas-barbar ad0s3g lev 0 FAILED [[parse of reply message failed]]
kas-barbar ad0s3a lev 0 FAILED [[parse of reply message failed]]

The server (FreeBSD 4.6.1-RELEASE-p10) is running 2.4.2p1. (Because
2.4.2p2 didn't work for me.

Yep. I've gotten the same problem on my 2.4.1p1 server with 2.4.3b4 clients
compiled via the FreeBSD ports system. I just downgraded the clients to
2.4.3p2, and we'll see if the backups go through tonight.

Anyone more familiar with the code than I have any idea what would cause this?
