I have done so, yes.

The problem is that some of amanda's glue scripts (specifically
chg-zd-mtx) make calls to both mt and to mtx. mt wants to use the actual
(/dev/nrsa0 and /dev/ch0, for example) device names, while mtx needs to
use the passthrough (/dev/pass0 and /dev/pass1) devices.
Even hacking the script to hardcode the responses doesn't seem to work
because some of the precompiled binaries seem to want to access the tape
drive and changer using varying device names.
