[ADSM-L] Spectrum Protect for VE application aware backups using different versions of VE possible?

Hi all,

A customer is running Exchange on Windows 2008R2 that does not have 8.1
support.
The customer does want to upgrade their datamovers to 8.1 for higher
restore performance.

For datamovers it is not supported to run different versions of VE for one
datacenter node.
Does anybody know if this is supported for application aware backups so we
can upgrade the site to 8.1 but leave the Exchange VE component on 7.1.6.4?
