I'd try a backup. I'm pretty sure it is just weird formatting of the q opt
output. Yours looks like mine and it is working fine.

Notice the fact that /dev is not behind the VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT line but on the
next line! I deleted the whole line (through vi) and recreated it (also through
vi), just to prevent special characters or crlf's, but to no avail...

Try " dsmc q opt|less" or just " dsmc q opt|". On my Linux TBMR systems the
/dev is on the line following " VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT:" in the q opt output.

this backup I need to add the virtualmountpoint parameter to the dsm.sys file
