Re: [ADSM-L] TSM VE 7.1.2 Mount Proxy Pairs

Hello David,
I reused my existing Windows and Linux
datamovers for the proxy mount nodes. For the Windows box, I had
to install the iSCSI service from the Windows server manager and then I
used the configuration wizard on the datamover GUI to do the config.
For the Linux box, auto config is not
available, so there is a document in the 7.1.2 infocenter that details
what's required to set up the Linux mount node. It's not much work.
So I now have two CAD services/daemons
running on each of my datamover nodes. One for the datamover, one
for the proxy node.

VE 7.1.2 Mount Proxy Pairs

The 7.1.2 doc indicates I need Proxy Pairs for VE
mount and instant restore. But I can't find the doc that tells me
how to set them up. I appear to need a Windows and a Linux server.
Do they have to be dedicated? Can I/should I use a data mover
as one of the proxies? Do I need to install anything on the proxy
servers? Has anyone set these up and willing to offer some advice?
David
