Hi Stefan,

The API in this case is the VMware VDDK. The meaning of the API return code
is given in the "API error message" field:

> Fehler beim Speichern des Snapshots: Das Stilllegen der virtuellen
Maschine ist fehlgeschlagen.

One step you can take is to see if you can manually make a snapshot of the
VM guest. Make sure that when you create the snapshot, you choose the
option "Quiesce guest file system (Needs VMware Tools installed)"
