We had a customer who installed his application on d: (with windows on c:).
No files missed or excluded from the backup. His d: drive crashed and he
restored it. Again no files missed or excluded. Everyone expected success.
Sadly his application could not start.

Why?

Part of his .exe files ended up as part of the system state backup (in this
case .exe files where related to defined services). And we found loads of
others doing the same.

So simply excluding system state from backup might be not so smart as
windows seem to be putting more and more stuff into system state even if
its not related directly to windows and os drive.
