Folks,

I'm restoring my TSM DB to a new host and have run into some extremely slow performance restoring the DB.  It seems to process a few hundred MB and then pause for 5-10 seconds before starting up again.  The new host is a Power8 S22 with 20 cores and 256GB of RAM, running AIX.  The tape drives have two 4Gb HBAs connected and the disk has four 8Gb.  I'm looking at a 2.3 TB database that will take approx 13 hours to restore.

Any ideas on why it's slow and how it could be sped up would be appreciated.
