FYI - I tried adding a backslash to the end of the dir name to see if that
would work, getting a different error now.

Hi Steve,
Try placing a \ before each double-quote. For example:
DSMC SELECTIVE \"C:\DIR WITH SPACE\" -SUBDIR=Y
In your example:
&.\DSMC SELECTIVE \"$myBackupDir\" -SUBDIR=Y
