Customer reporting AIX client 6.2 backup times almost double after upgrading 
the OS from AIX 5.3 to AIX 6.1.

This is on just 45 chunky files in 1 filesystem, so it's not about scanning the 
directory tree.
The disk is EMC VMAX tiered storage, which is good and fast.
And a client trace shows 70% of the time is in file I/O.
So everything so far points to the issue being in the AIX upgrade, not a 
problem in the client.

The customer has opened a problem ticket with AIX support and one with TSM 
support, but no results so far, except the client trace points the accusing 
finger at AIX.

Just asking here, if anybody else has seen this already and can help, before we 
head down the crit-sit highway....
