Yes, that's how to do it. Manipulating the list of directories in the
device class is an essential part of managing a sequential file disk
storage pool. I change mine fairly often to reflect hardware changes or
any other issues.

After you update the decice class to remove the one you want to be
read/only (E), and if you're not in a hurry, you can let movement from E
to D happen by itself with normal reclamation. In my experience if I can
wait a week, half of the .bfs files will have walked over by themselves.
(YMMV!) Then use MOVE DATA for the rest, after you get tired of waiting
for reclamaiton. Certainly the lazy way to move this kind of data,
reducing the need for MOVE DATA processes.
