Windows 2008R2 x64 Datacenter
TSMS 6.3.0.0 for Windows (12:47:17 on Oct 10 2011)
My current server hangs on start, and I can't figure out why.
*wheeze* back in the day, you could run dsmserv.exe from a command prompt
on Windows, and get stdout.
So, I log in as the instance user, run cmd.exe, go to my instance
directory, and run dsmserv.exe (it's in my path).
A separate console window pops up, and immediately closes.
Redirecting doesn't put anything in the file.
If I look closely, I see some output in the fraction of a second that the
new console window is up.
Is there not a way to keep dsmserv from spawning a NEW window anymore?
Am I really going to have to resort to creating a batch file with a pause
at the end?
I don't know when this became the case. I don't recall it in 6.2, but I
don't have to use CLI all that often.
I'm hoping this is just some 2k8 thing and being a unixy guy, I'm just too
stupid to figure it out.
With friendly Regards,
Josh-Daniel S. Davis
