Hi Robert,
Yes, if you are ONLY doing client side deduplication there is no reason to run
a process on the server, and you can set your identifyprocess to 0 on the
stgpool.
Dean.

Subject: [ADSM-L] Question about Deduplcation feature with TSM6
Hi to all
I just beginning to test the DE duplication feature with TSM 6 , I did all the
configuration required
My node name as those parameters: dedup=clientorserver (server side) ,
deduplication YES (client side)
My Storage pool as those parameters: deduplicate=YES , identifyprocess=1
As I understand the manual if the nodename is configure with the option
dedup=clientorserver , during the backup client-side data deduplication
processing, duplicates are identified on the backup-archive client.
So why in the query process I see: need to change the parameter:
identifyprocess=0 ????
