[ADSM-L] TSM 6.x on z/Linux

I have a number of questions about the way in which TSM running under z/Linux 
interfaces with tape.

How are your tape drives defined? Through z/VM or directly to z/Linux?
Is obtaining drivers for the more popular tape drives difficult?
Does TSM do all of the tape management, or do you use some other tape 
management software as well?

How does a VTL, such as the IBM 7700 series, change any of the above questions 
or answers?
