Hi Rick,

The simple attributes would be things like read-only, archive, hidden,
system, etc. attributes that are stored in the TSM server database. The
security attributes are backed up as part of the file on Windows and thus
stored in the storage pools. See chapter 4, section "Full and partial
incremental backup", in the backup-archive client manual for a description
of what changes cause a file to be backed up vs. updated. The client
manuals for Unix and Linux, as well as NetWare, have similar information
for those platforms.
