yes Tuncel you are correct. I looked into BIRT because Tivoli CommonReporting was using it.

However IBM's product has a considerable resource requirements andfootprint and because it is the common reporting component for all ofthe Tivoli line it has to be all things to all men.

My goals are much less ambitious, basically a light weight reportingtool for current TSM data, and will hopefully run on the same class ofhardware as TSM OR does now.

Hi All

TSM Operational Reporting has been useful for a long time, but is now
something of an unwanted orphan.  It has significant limitations,
particularly in that it can only support a limited number of reports,
the ability to customize is limited and it presents a server-by-server
view of things.

For quite a while I have been toying with replacements, most of which
have been dead ends.  Eventually I have settled upon BIRT as a reporting
engine, and believe this has some merit.  I knocked together a basic but
still impressive Client Schedule report with just a couple of hours
effort having never used the tool before.

I can't justify developing this in company time, but I am very keen to
continue so I am starting an open-source project to take this further.

It may come to nothing, but, if anyone is interested in joining-in in
any capacity with this, or even just to express an interest in any
