Given the configuration of DIRECTORY=/dir1,/dir2,/dir3,/dir4 the first volume
opened by the TSM server will be in /dir1, the second will be /dir2 and so on,
balancing the creation of new volumes across the directories.

Does TSM balance volume creation across directories for a File Device Class?

For example: If we have a File Device Class with 4 directories, say dir1, dir2,
dir3 and dir4 (each of which is a separate LUN) - Does TSM create volumes in
dir1 until it is full, then use dir2 and so on - or does it automatically
distribute the volumes evenly across the directories?

Many Thanks,
