Is anyone using this methodology for bare-metal restore of AIX images?

AIX 6.1 TL4
Sysback v6.1
TSM v5.5
Virtualized lpars on Power6 550s

Backing up to TSM, all the querying, etc. works like a champ.
Booting from CD appears to work successfully (after doing things like
linking unix_64 to unix_mp and so forth)
But once the particulars for a given node are entered, all the SB CD Boot
menu does is refresh after trying to connect via ethernet.

(e.g., I change the installation device as instructed, but when I
examine the rootvg LVM etc. to get the list of images stored in TSM, it
just displays the function name saying it's trying to connect to the ent
device, then refreshes the screen)

We have ports 1239, 1023 and 1022 open as well as 1500 for TSM.

The client is routed from the master, but the backup and queries succeed
just fine, and all the connecting info is entered properly.

Does anyone use this methodology? i'm about to call IBM software support
to get them to tell me what isn't working properly when I follow their
instructions in the redbook. Are their other ports that need to be open
that aren't talked about or something similar?

Many thanks!

Bruce T.
