Hi folks,

sorry if this is a bit special, but I hope to find some opinions for this
parameter. We are planning to move our tape environment to a clustered
Eternus CS. Environment is TSM is 5.2.2.1 on Sun Solaris 10.
We will still maintain a limited "landing zone" on SAN disk for all those
tiny chunks coming in from the incrementals to then be migrated.
FTS is propagating a parameter called "save delay", which basically delays
copying data from filling volumes to the back end tape to avoid hot spots
due to the way the Eternus handles changed volumes. On the other hand this
also implies a delay in saveguarding that data to tape in case of logical
errors.
Does anyone in the field have experience with the parameter or at least
more than a gut instinct if it makes sense with TSM?

I would really appreciate input and insights from the TSM community.
