Hello Howard,

when you change the device technology, e.g. from LTO2 to LTO4 you have to
update the TSM Device Class. Otherwise you will get the message ANR1134E.

Cheers,
Bruno.

Betreff: [ADSM-L] LTO2s not mounting in LTO4 drives

Ladies and Gents, I have a rather serious issue now that I've upgraded my
library to LTO4s. TSM will NOT mount an LTO2 tape for reading. I need to
migrate the data off of LTO2 tapes, and it was my understanding that LTO4s
would mount for read only, LTO2s.
However, now that I've implemented the 4's here's the result I get when
trying to move nodedata, move data, or migrate from LTO2 to LTO4:

ANR1000I Migration process 207 started for storage pool WINPRIPOOL_OLD
manually,
highMig=90, lowMig=6, duration=None.
ANR1100I Migration started for volume 011399, storage pool WINPRIPOOL_OLD
(process
number 207).
ANR1102I Removable volume 011270 is required for migration.
ANR1102I Removable volume 011399 is required for migration.
ANR1122E Migration is ended for volume 011399. An insufficient number of
mount points
are available for removable media.
ANR1134E Migration is ended for storage pool WINPRIPOOL_OLD. There is an
insufficient
number of mount points available for removable media.
ANR0985I Process 207 for MIGRATION running in the BACKGROUND completed with
completion
state FAILURE at 14:16:31.
ANR4935I Migration of primary storage pool WINPRIPOOL_OLD has ended. Files
migrated:
0, Bytes migrated: 0, Unreadable Files: 0.

I've updated the storage pools to "drives" for mount point limits, but I'm
stumped. TSM will mount and use LTO3 tapes, but not 2s. Any help would be
appreciated.

System running on AIX 6.1 with Atape Driver 12.0.7.0.
