Hi Lori,

I think you might be better off on a mainframe or linux on mainframe
related forum, since this has very little of nothing to do with TSM
client or server configuration, and everything with mainframe
hardware, vm, or linux configuration.

On 3 nov 2009, at 18:10, Lori Grimaldi wrote:

Our VM system has one VSWITCH defined which can use either of 2 OSA
interfaces. One interface is on CHPID FA and the other is on FB.
Both
interfaces come up as "1000 Mbps full duplex". The FA chpid is
showing
fairly high processor utilization and FB is showing almost nothing,
neither of them are showing any dropped packets or other errors.

The high utilization is caused by whatever is using the
interfaces, which in this case is the VSWITCH that the Linux machines
are on. Apparently the VSWITCH only uses one interface at a time
which
is why the FA chpid is quite busy and the FB chpid shows almost
nothing.

Does anyone know if there is a way to remedy this situation? We had
mail
servers backing up for 2 days.
