Yes, it can read from local storage - you'll be writing/reading it directly
to/from tape, not sending it over the LAN to the TSM Server: that's the
functionality that the SAN Storage Agent software on your client allows.

Subject: [ADSM-L] LAN-free question

Hi,
ClientA has B/A client and storage agent installed and can access a tape
library that is defined in TSM server. Can this client send local data (on
local hard disk) to the tape library using LAN-free method? In other worlds,
does the location of client data matter as long as client can access them
locally or externally?

Thanks.
