Nick,
Run 'q ev <domain-name>  <schedule-name>'   with a domain and schedule
that you know contain clients using dsmcad.  The output displays
scheduled start time and actual start time.   'server prompted' mode
does not honor randomization, but 'client polling' does.  Perhaps that
is what your colleague is half-recollecting.
